As we wind down in 2021, we are looking back on our recent Geo for Good Summit, our annual event that brings together scientists and practitioners from around the world who are working for positive social and environmental impact using Google mapping tools.

This year, we celebrated 10 years of the Geo for Good Summit, and we thought the best way to do this was to celebrate you — our Geo for Good community — by organizing the event to highlight the amazing work you’re all doing. We had 88 presentations by mapmakers, analysts, scientists, and other change makers across five themes: Climate Science & Communication, Forest & Nature, Sustainable Supply Chain Sourcing, Social Inclusion, and Crisis Response.

Over 1,500 of you participated in the Summit, and engaged with all the presenters and Googlers during Q&A, Office Hours, and the Virtual Networking and Poster Gallery sessions. You even hosted 19 DIY-style Virtual Meetups!

We couldn’t be more grateful to you, and our entire community, for joining us — either live or on-demand — to learn about how you can leverage these mapping tools, too. If you missed the Summit, don’t worry — the videos are available to watch on our events platform, and in this YouTube playlist.

What’s next? Well, the fun continues! Don’t miss our upcoming virtual events in January, including an Earth Blox training and Forest & Nature Lightning Talks Part 1 and Part 2. We hope to see you there!
