More flexibility with a new unit picker in Google Earth for Android

By Bishma Stornelli, Software Engineer, Google Earth

Earlier this year, we added a unit picker to the Measure Tool in Google Earth for Chrome and iOS, giving users more options and greater flexibility. Today we’re happy to introduce this feature to our Android community.

Use the Measure Tool to measure distance or area, then tap on the result to convert into different units. You can select from a wide variety of distance and area units including hectares, acres and even smoots. Select “Automatic” to let Earth decide which unit to use based on the distance or area you are measuring, whether your country uses the metric or imperial system, and your app preferences.

Happy measuring!
