One of the most important Goose Q ecosystem components is Jiama road messenger. This time we had an AMA session with Jiama CEO Baja. Baja is already several years involved in logistics communication business and had previously connected over a million of truck drivers in one platform. In 2018 he with his team has launched Jiama road messenger that is aimed to connect all 30 million truck drivers in China, enhance their social relationships with IT and then expand abroad.

Dimitry: Welcome everyone to AMA session with Jiama road messenger CEO Baja!

Baja: Hello, everyone, I am very happy to share recent news about Jiama app with you.

Dimitry: Last time we made an interview was already three months ago, what is the progress so far?

Baja: Yes, it has been around three months from the last time we met, and during these three months, we also improved our app based on feedback from the users. In terms of development, we are adjusting basic functions, such as drivers’ help, drivers’ mission system, drivers’ donations, drivers‘ credit system. Also we have integrated some of our partners’ services, for example truck rentals and games platform.

In terms of business, we have recently signed a cooperation agreement with the Northwest Eagles Truck Association, and we have made further progress in communication and cooperation between the Central Lions and the Northwest Wolves. We will share details with you later.

Dimitry: With what truck drivers communities Jiama is cooperating now?

Baja: Jiama is now partnering with several leading truck drivers’ communities. Our main partners are Chinese Dragon Truck Association, Northwest Eagles, Central Lions, and Northwest Wolves. These organizations have their own characteristics, management and we are adjusting Jiama functionality according to their suggestions.

They are using Jiama to complete their daily social activities and help each other. The platform also meets these communities needs by integrating more truck drivers and related services. We are working together for a mutual goal and help each other.

It is important to mention that we create a tool for all and there is no exclusivity for any of the communities. If A can use it, then B can use it as well.

Dimitry: how many users have already registered and what are the expectations for the 4th quarter of 2019?

Baja: At present, we have 200,000 registered users at Jiama road messenger. Then, at the end of this year, it is expected to be within the range of 400,000 to 500,000 registered users.

Dimitry: how is it going with daily missions? What missions are the most popular or how much a truck driver can earn doing these missions?

Baja: This question is a very good one. The missions are more about development of a credit system for drivers. This is the key point. In the past, social contributions of truck drivers weren’t recorded, for example, A helped B on the road and this fact might remain unknown for others, thus Jiama is bringing “karma” records for each driver. We also encourage social contributions with loyalty points, for an instance, some truck drivers could already earn 5000 to 6000 loyalty points for giving way directions, sharing road conditions, etc. Loyalty points can be directly converted into GQ tokens in the near future.

Dimitry: how about integration of GQ token into Jiama road messenger?

Baja: So far GQ was not completely integrated into Jiama and the reason is not because of technical difficulties, but because of practicability of having GQ integrated right now, when overall token loop is not completed from the business point of view. We are now actively trying to bring more commodity and service partners who would be interested in accepting GQ token as a payment tool and thus give the token value. Truck drivers generally don’t know what blockchain is or how to use tokens, but when they see actual value in it, for an instance, ability to charge Daluka SIM-card, buy machine oil, or get discount for gasoline, they will certainly accept it. So now we are working on completing token circulation framework, it is our priority at the moment.

Dimitry: Do you plan to expand business of Jiama beyond China?

Baja: Since the release of Jiama, we actually had this idea. Communication is a borderless phenomena, although there might be difficulties with legislation in some countries. For now we consider countries of South-East Asia, since they are in developing stage, very populated, and have cultures somehow similar to Chinese one in certain aspects.

Dimitry: Few weeks ago Tencent has announced that it will introduce voice control for Wechat. How this might affect Jiama?

Baja: I also paid attention to this news. Tencent’s announcement of Car WeChat was quite loud. However, the idea of it is to provide value-added service for new car owners, so it cannot expand very fast. Also the main function of Wechat is to substitute phone calls and messaging, and Tencent is doing it perfectly, but it is not targeted on more comprehensive social relations. A good example here is Ding Ding app developed by Alibaba [CRM&ERP tool for enterprises] — it is very popular now in its segment and Wechat is not going there.

Jiama road messenger is more than just a substitute for phone calls or messages, it is a tool for deeper interconnections in the niche market of truck drivers, so there is no competition with Wechat even with voice control for drivers.

Community questions

Anderma: What are the plans for the nearest future? For 2020?

Baja: We are going to do more iterations for Jiama and it will gradually go to a stable version. Then we are going to make it easier for partners to integrate their products and services in order to meet demands of truck drivers, such as vehicle maintenance, commercial evacuation, cargo delivery requests, driver recruitment, and so on. It all will be available in the new versions. We want to bring all truck drivers together hence consolidate this market in one place.

Galahad: Why token projects are so important recently?

Baja: I will consider this question in regard to Jiama. Blockchain technology can actually provide higher level of trust and fair distribution of value. For an instance, truck drivers up to now don’t have a commonly accepted medium of their social contributions and with blockchain tech it is possible. There are a lot questions about donations in the community and where this value is ending up.

For example, I , as a truck driver, constantly help others, but who would help me? So far it is very questionable. So far community of truck drivers is able to handle somehow this issue, but certainly introduction of decentralized trust system will enhance social responsibility of truck drivers. And in the future there would be questions about platform credibility and whether it is fair or not, so I am a proponent of blockchain technology in this sense. GQ token is going to have its own loop of circulation and its value will increase naturally, there is no need for external investments in this sense.

老K: When more truck drivers join and they get lots of GQ as a reward, then there will be high pressure on token price, then what?

This question has been discussed within the team quite a lot. From our point of view, there is no value in tokens that are just targeted on speculative growth. We are building self sustainable token flow which is supported by the community of truck drivers. This is the corner stone of GQ natural growth. The stronger the ecosystem of Goose Q is the stronger the value of GQ.
