100 Scripts in 30 Days challenge — Change of Course

Hi just today I got the below notice from Reddit and this has troubled me greatly. When I started this series, I was full of hope and also till yesterday very enthusiastic about writing about Python and learning new things and sharing my experiences along the way. But today I was suspended from reddit for spamming and self promotion.

So this is what it looks like. And this made me to read the whole Reddit content policy and all about the redditquette that you would find in various subreddits.

I have loved reddit for long and have also liked the quality of the content they have, but I have also have read so much about their strict moderation and sometimes over strict policy. Even sometimes the way moderators have acted on removing users or removing posts, has also raised lot of questions and lot of controversy but still there one point I agree that weeding out spam and keeping quality is not an easy process and as posters we also have to be aware of what platform we are using and what care we should take while posting on that platform. While on other platforms its ok but on Reddit it become even more important and sometimes its difficult even for me to decide as to what is right to post and what not to.

Right now lot of things are going on in my life and even I am not sure while writing this blog what policies I am breaking of Medium or the state. I personally am a supporter of free speech and also do not see any issues in promoting myself. But in doing so I would definitely set a scope for myself where I would focus on why I started this series and what I want to take away from it. And in this context my initial tweet still stands.

But now I would also like to add some structure around it as I am changing course for my blog. I will stop self promoting my blog till end of this series. My focus will be now on learning and posting relevant experience. The only place now people may find my posts will be Facebook and Twitter.

Next I am putting a focus on my future posts. And will try to keep a maximum limit on number of scripts per post to 3. The topics that I will cover in future is given below.
