Day 1 — Sunset Report

<begin log>

Day one was not perfect. I woke up at 5 am and got my day going. I did a little exercise and made an entry in my journal. My attempt to do some reading was derailed by a phone call with a traveling friend who needed to stay awake while driving.

Breakfast and lunch went as planned, but I didn’t do any reading. I got caught up in trying to finish Assassin’s Creed Syndicate (I did). I dropped the ball on dinner. I think my overall reduced calorie goal was met, but the dinner splurge was giving in to the tyranny of my taste buds. So I count that as a loss.

This entry counts as a log. All in all, I consider this a fail. I think I’m going to take what I learned and approach tomorrow as a new day. 30 days of being a more disciplined person means being disciplined about continuing in the face of perceived failure. I hope to acquit myself better tomorrow.

Informal survey: (scale of 1–10)

How did I sleep? 7 (Well)
Energy rating? 6 (Slightly High)
Future optimism? 6 (Slightly Optimistic)

I took an ‘L’ today, but the journey is far from over.
