Introducing Synth. Podcasting in byte-size increments.

In the age of information overload, we’re redesigning how we listen.

In May we’re launching Synth. Synths are easy to discover 256 second audio or video recordings that can be assembled into interactive podcast experiences.

Everyone Benefits from Better Listening.

Synth is built out of the learnings from our education tool, Recap. Recap successfully got two million students using their voices in classrooms using video. Buried within our success was a problem — students and teachers were overwhelmed by the content and couldn’t fully listen.

With some reflection, we recognized this wasn’t just a problem for education. Everyone we know today is overwhelmed by information. So we started down the path to build a tool to make it easier to listen.

Promisingly, podcasts have found a formula that works. They fit into your life when you have less distractions, like during commutes, workouts or chores. MRI brain scan studies demonstrate their effectiveness. The problem is that podcasting discovery or creation isn’t approachable for most of us. It needs to be substantially easier. Enter Synth.

Wisdom is the reward you get for a lifetime of listening when you’d have preferred to talk. — Doug Larson

A Better Way to Listen.

We aim to improve human connections by creating better ways to listen to each other and be heard.

Listen, converse and create interactive podcast listening experiences with people who share your interests and passions.

It also help teams and classes realize their potential by discussing important topics that text communication and meetings simply don’t address.

One of the most sincere forms of respect is actually listening to what another has to say. — @BryantMcGill

How does it work?

Synths are searchable and scannable on Explore, shareable externally with transcriptions and each one is a gateway to more.

Use threads, hashtags and comments to have open, real-time conversations or in an experience you synthesize using Podcasts

Invite one or many participants to Podcasts. Discuss a topic on a one-time or ongoing basis. Keep it private for participants only or make it all discoverable.
