Our Women Only Tri Camp kicked off on Saturday at our base at Ferrer Janeiro in Can Picafort, Mallorca. We were super excited to welcome 8 athletes to our first ever #WomenOnly camp, which along with the core Got To Tri team is being supported by Coaches Rachel Perry, Marianne Clark and Cathy Kwan.

Saturday was all about getting settled, building bikes and even stretching post-plane legs with a short jog on the promenade! The evening was a great opportunity for the athletes to meet our coaching team and discuss the vision for this camp.

Plus we were lucky to hear from Sarah Law, Chartered Psychologist — who brought us all together and encouraged us to share our ambitions and anxieties for the week.

Sunday, usually the ‘day of rest’ was the opposite for our women.

Day 1

Swim

After warming up with a few lengths and some drills, the athletes performed a CSS test — a good benchmark for any swimmer. As well as having their stroke videoed for analysis.

Bike

We rode out as a pack to Campanet, tackling Got To Tri favourite ‘Phoebe’s Hill’ before coffee. On the way back, we used the descent to practice some bike handling before enjoying the wind behind us as we flew home.

Strava: 45.6km — 287m elevation

Run

Straight off the bike, we headed down to the promenade to complete a brick session. Testing our legs off the bike, we jogged in the sunshine before breaking down the run for further video analysis.

And as if that wasn’t enough…

The sun was shining and the water was flat, so some of our athletes completed their day with a dip in the sea and some open water drills.

To help everyone with their recovery, we then headed to the spa before refuelling at supper and heading to bed — no doubt dreaming of day two…

Rest, Refuel, Repeat.
