Julian sits on the couch, staring at the floor. It’s so quiet in the house. A waterbug crawls across the floor. He catches a glimpse of the bug in his periphery as it scurries away toward the front door. Julian doesn't move a hair or an inch. The bug slips away underneath the door, unscathed.
