Run a workshop or breakout session at Design System Day 2022

Update: On 8 September 2022 Buckingham Palace announced the death of Her Majesty The Queen. A period of national mourning commenced with the announcement and will continue until the state funeral. Read about the arrangements following The Queen’s death.

In respect of this time, we’ve postponed Design System Day 2022 to take place later in the autumn. Tickets will remain valid for the new date when it’s announced.

We’re keen to make this year’s Design System Day as community-led as possible. There are plenty of opportunities to help shape our agenda and we’re excited to bring everyone together under the theme of ‘Inclusivity by Design’.

We’re looking for people to pitch ideas to facilitate either a breakout session or workshop. Your idea can be about anything related to design systems and take the form of a:

• Breakout session: 45 minutes free-form sessions, so you can use the time to have a discussion, run a mini-workshop or any other appropriate activity
• Workshop: 90 minute sessions that include a presentation and audience activities

To run a workshop, you’ll need to commit to both days (20 and 21 September). Your idea should be related to our theme of ‘Inclusivity by design’.

For breakout sessions, you do not need to commit to both days but we might ask if you’d like to repeat your session on both days if time allows.

As someone facilitating a workshop or breakout session you’ll be guaranteed a ticket to the entire event.

How to pitch your idea

Send us an email to govuk-design-system-support@digital.cabinet-office.gov.uk to sign up to run a workshop or breakout session. We’ll need to know:

• Your role and any organisations you work at
• Your experience
• Your idea for a workshop or breakout session (one paragraph)
• How we can support you as a facilitator

Sign up and send us your pitch by the end of Friday 09 September 2022.
