Today we’re excited to tell the world about two new big additions to the Govrn Community. Starting today, Govrn is joining both the Techstars Atlanta Cox Social Impact Accelerator as well as the RadicalxChange Fellowship Program.

Govrn’s mission is to build the next generation of politics by putting constituents, experts, and politicians on the same team to empower communities. Joining Techstars and RadicalxChange helps us achieve that mission.

If anyone can connect us with Neil, you win the game.

Techstars Atlanta — Cox Social Impact

For those that aren’t familiar with Techstars, Techstars is a Startup Accelerator that aims to help entrepreneurs create a better future for everyone.

Joining Techstars, and specifically, their Social Impact Stream is a huge milestone for Govrn. We know in order to be successful, we can’t just build something good. We need to build something that is both great and that can be adopted by communities and users.

By joining the Techstars Social Impact Stream, we’re being connected with mentors and advisors that do just that: help us grow while creating positive value and sustainable change for local communities. Additionally, all the startups in this cohort are insanely awesome, which will allow us to learn best practices from others who are building in this space as well.

We can’t wait to see what we can learn from this process as well as what we can offer and contribute back to the group. We’re incredibly honored to be included in this cohort and are excited about the future.

RadicalxChange

For those who aren’t familiar with RadicalxChange, RadicalxChange is a global movement for next-generation political economies. It advances plurality, equality, community, and decentralization through upgrades of democracy, markets, the data economy, the commons, and identity.

The secret sauce to Govrn is being able to re-align existing incentives structures by re-imagining how our governance models should work. By joining RadicalxChange, we join some of the smartest experts in the space who are doing just that.

In working with them, we hope to design and test our governance model so we not only build a great model but also work through all the kinks and bugs before launching.

This is their inaugural fellowship class and we’re excited that Govrn has been selected to join. Find more about the RadicalxChange and their fellowship program here.

We Are Pumped

If you couldn’t tell by now, we’re super excited about joining these two programs. Govrn operates at the intersection of many different topics and disciplines. We’ve known from the beginning that we were going to need help from the very best minds in many different sectors and community-led movements. We know that by being a part of these two programs, we’re ensuring that we are having the right conversations to achieve Govrn’s mission.

We’re so excited, on the excitement meter we’re “Pitbull” level of excitement right now.

Have thoughts on the process or want to contribute to the movement? We want to hear from you!! Email us your ideas at Jim.Helpert@govrn.io.
