Genesis Pool is a community centered project that has a long term project goal of becoming a full fledged DAO which means that feedback, comments and critiques by the community are indispensable and will always represent a valuable asset in GPool’s growth.

With that in mind the team decided to first launch the Beta version for the long awaited Staking Platform, paired with a faucet for users to become familiar with the process, and give the team as much valuable feedback as possible.

As the team knows not all GPool community members are familiar with Testnet so a step-by-step guide on how to use the platform has been prepared for the community members to be able to fully enjoy the staking experience and, in case any doubts pop up, know exactly where to find an answer.

Important Things to Know Before Checking the Guide

  • Price of $GPOOL is different from mainnet so don’t worry about amount of tokens
  • All addresses will initially start as Bronze GPass holders for testing purposes. We will eventually update the GPass status so you can experience the reward growth as well
  • ETH for gas fee can be request on Chainlink’s Faucet
  • Make sure to follow all steps in order to have a great testing experience

Step by Step Guide

Set Up the wallet & Get the Tokens

First step for testers is to connect the wallet (Metamask) to the Goerli Network — one of the Ethereum Testnets.

To add $GPOOL token to your Testnet wallet you must go through the same steps as for an usual token on Mainnet.

$GPOOL Testnet Contract Address:
0x8D7341D4889ec78990b7B7ad4FbdDC4B3AC516fA

Note: In most situations, your test $GPOOL tokens will be available in your metamask. If not, please add them using the procedure mentioned above. Testnet token has a different contract than the one on Mainnet.

After doing it, you have 2 options to get the tokens:

Option 01: Wait for Airdrop

Wait for the Genesis Pool team to airdrop the tokens to your wallet address (equivalent amount of what you hold of $GPOOL on your mainnet ETH wallet).

In case you qualify($GPOOL holders) for this one, just go directly to the “Staking on the Beta Platform” section.

Option 02: Use the faucet

Manually add $GPOOL tokens to your wallet.

For this one it’s important to carefully follow the guide below:

  1. Access Goerli Block Explorer (EtherScan)
  2. Click on Contract and then Write Contract

3. Press Connect to Web3 and then, on the Pop-up, click on the preferred wallet and Confirm the transactions (preferably try it out with Metamask).

If it shows a pop-up on the browser make sure to click “OK”. It will change the color from Red to Green and show that your wallet is connected to the faucet.

Right under the “connection button”, click on the #8 section (requestTokens). This is where you will request your $GPOOL tokens but keep in mind: price works differently on Goerli so there is a maximum amount of 50 $GPOOL tokens to be requested — which is more than the minumum required for Staking.

Click “Write” and then confirm the transaction on the wallet.

By this point, $GPOOL tokens should already be on your Goerli Testnet wallet.

To make sure you’re able to afford the Ethereum (Goerli) gas fees, go to Chainlink’s faucet page, select “Ethereum Goerli” as Network, paste your wallet address, proceed the captcha and click “Send me 0.1 ETH”.

Staking on the Beta Platform

As soon as you have your wallet and tokens ready, proceed to the Beta Staking Platform to start playing around with your tokens.

When on the Beta Platform, make sure to connect your wallet on the top right corner through the Ethereum Network. From that point on, all the next steps are up to you!

There is a great amount of interactions around the platform so feel free to play around with it, check everything out and always keep in mind that your feedback is more than welcome. Genesis Pool is and will always be made by its community.

Platform Overview & Changes for Mainnet

The Genesis Staking platform will be a pivotal addition to the Genesis Pool ecosystem, offering new revenue streams for current investors, and adding a very attractive long-term incentive for new investors looking to enter the ecosystem.

From an investors perspective, the platform will allow any user to stake and receive rewards in a multitude of tokens, spread throughout numerous chains. The easy to use and simple interface allows users from all walks of crypto investing to quickly adapt and begin using the platform; no bridges, no wrapped tokens, only efficient and intuitive staking.

The Beta version will be a tool for GPoolers to get a feeling for what is next and for the team to understand small changes needed. Visually (UI/UX) Mainnet Platform already have some significant changes when compared to Testnet so the community can wait for a intuitive, functional, rewarding and safe Staking Platform.

Why is it not live yet?

As disclosed recently, Genesis Pool has locked a partnership with Hacken not just for audit of their own contracts but also to help on upcoming IDO projects development. The starting point of the partnership will be the audit of the Staking Platform — which is already being taken care of by the Hacken specialists. Rewards and Staking without a security audit wouldn’t be enough and could represent a big risk — a risk that GPool is not willing to take.

Soon enough the rewards distribution will not be just on Beta Version but on the Official one on Mainnet. That’s where the real fun will be!
