Yesterday I sat down and made a master weekly schedule. Since it’s clear now that we’ll be sheltering in place until the beginning of May, and schools in California will not be in session for the rest of the year, I figured I might as well take advantage of the opportunity to establish some healthy habits for April.

Working from home has certainly brought some changes to my life. I’m not totally unaccustomed to having large chunks of time off since I used to be a high school teacher, but this is completely different. Neither my husband nor I am going to work, although I am so fortunate to be working from home and getting my regular paycheck.

It’s overwhelming to think of the impact this pandemic will have on our economy in the long term. I believe there will be some innovation and creativity that will lead to no opportunity and industry. At the same time, a great deal of what we know and recognize in our cities and neighborhoods will be forever changed.
