Day 383

Other people’s mistakes…

Today was Labor Day. It is a day to recognize and acknowledge the importance of hard work and those who commit their lives to it.

At least that’s how I take it.

Generally days like today, the tail end of a three day weekend for “regular 9-to-5 type folks“, are pretty quiet at work. Not today. I wish it were due to amazingly intense training work with dogs and their humans. I wish it were due to going through staff education. Frankly I wish it had been doing pretty much anything other than what I had to do … prep work for an almost complete overhaul of Hydrant Club’s outdoor park. It’s all going to be amazing when it’s done but this interim part where I am struggling my way through tasks that are entirely outside my wheelhouse (making them both challenging and excessively time consuming …) is aggravating as all get out.

So, rather than complain, because the truth is I “get“ the opportunity to do this, and it is after all my business, I’m just going to go directly to the gratitude list…

Today’s Gracious Gratitude. I am grateful for:

  • The presence of mind to focus on gratitude
  • Glorious sunrises
  • Expansive desert skies
  • The miracle of blooms that erupt from seemingly dead space
  • Reveling in the results from my afternoon of tending garden yesterday
  • Getting through a deeply frustrating day without losing my temper
  • Leftovers
