Day 981
Bliss-ed Out
Today is Sunday. Normally it’s the day I sleep in (defined in my world as not setting an alarm and waking around 7:00a/7:30a), deconstructing two newspapers and lounging amidst the broadsheets for a few hours with coffee.
Instead I was up early, hit two AA meetings before 10am, took a three hour audiobook voiceover workshop, cranked out two major house projects, hit two more AA meetings and now am blissfully reclined with my dogs.
The newspapers remain folded on the counter, the pages saturated with dark news and sadness still tightly tucked away. Glancing at the front pages I see the news I’d have consumed.
I’m glad I didn’t.
Today’s Gracious Gratitude. I am grateful for:
- Showing up for my sobriety
- Getting a chance to speak at a meeting in Hawaii
- My dogs
- Humidity (just enough)
- When someone you like shows up unexpectedly (in a virtual room) and makes you smile
- Feeling physically fit
- Fresh sheets on my bed
- Having a bed
