A New Publication about Teaching
Introducing Grading with Crayon
I’ve gone back into the classroom after a six-year unintentional hiatus. To celebrate my return to teaching, I’m starting a new publication: Grading with Crayon.
Okay, it’s not completely new. I used to have a blog by the same name.
What can you expect from Grading with Crayon? Stories about teaching, about learning, about students. Classroom antics. Lesson ideas. Classroom management tips. And probably an occasional rant about parents or administration.
It’ll be like hanging out in the teacher’s lounge, but without donuts.
If you’re a teacher (and once you’re a teacher, you’re always a teacher), then follow this publication! And if you like to write about teaching, then drop a comment below and ask to be added as a writer.
Here are the submission guidelines:
- Make sure you have a title and a subtitle, and that they’re done correctly. Choose the big T for title and the little t for the subtitle.
- Have an image and make sure you credit that thing.
- Use tags wisely. At least one of them needs to be “education.”
- Proofread, proofread, proofread.
- Your story must be related to teaching, schools, education, students, classrooms.
That’s it. I like to keep things simple. If other issues come up (i.e., a bunch of writers keep making the same weird mistakes), I’ll revise the guidelines. but in the meantime, if you have classroom stories, we want to hear them!
