NSW Transport API Keys

This project application heavily relies on real-time data which can be found in Transport NSW. This is a completely free open data source for NSW with anything related to transportation, fare, traffic live update, speed cameras and more. Since the website already has a comprehensive documentation on accessing API keys, in this post, I am going demonstrate exactly what I did to obtain the API keys used for my thesis project.

Step 1

Log-in. It doesn’t take long, completely free. There will be a few questionaire about yourself though but to log-in, you would need username and password.

Step 2

Under My Account dropdown, click Applications and create + new Application. Name your Application Name to anything. Under the API Management, click Add Items.

Search for Trip Planner APIs and submit

Click save and your API KEY should be ready!
