The article I found discusses the possibility of consuming artificial meat and the implications associated with using it to replace traditional livestock farming. This is a great topic as it pertains to our personal health and environmental health. Upon reading this article students should evaluate the advantages and disadvantages to such an idea, students could ask themselves a wide variety of questions:

  • Is this sustainable on a global scale?
  • Are there any health risks with artificial meat?
  • Does artificial meat offer the same nutritional value?

This is a great opportunity for students to take a closer look at where our food comes from and to look for innovative ways that could change how we harvest food. This directly pertains to understanding a bio-diverse planet, finding innovative and sustainable alternatives to food and energy is a critical aspect of our future.

This could be related to many different health content standards regarding nutrition and health decisions, such as 9–12 health content 4: Analyze how environmental factors and personal health are interrelated.
