Financial Literacy In Education
In this article, it is discussed that there are major obstacles such as requirements and teacher preparation. Certain states have issues even providing schools with this class as it is seen as unnecessary sometimes. One strategy I would use to teach this issue would be to give students a cause and effect chart that will help build a better understanding on why this issue is where it is at in the first place. After that I would lead an open discussion that could help students learn from one another the many possibilities and similarities between their answers.
Misconceptions: Misconceptions we may have to deal with as a class is thinking that all schools are funded the same and that the teachers have much flexibility in creating a class like financial literacy.
Standards: For this lesson, Montana Standards for Social Studies is used
Content Standard 5 is to be applied. Students make informed decisions based on an understanding of the economic principles of production, distribution, exchange, and consumption
