This article would be perfect for a science lesson based around taking care of our planet and recycling. This article touches on the possibility of bring back the milk man due to their use of glass bottles instead of plastic.

A misconceptions about this would be that some students may think that the glass bottles will be thrown away after use, but actually the milk man comes back and picks up the old bottles to reuse. This would be a good teaching opportunity to ask how we can recycle in our own classroom.

I had a teacher in 3rd grade that taught us the importance of recycling and had us all recycle in the classroom. We made things out of old milk cartons, water bottles, etc. this event could be incorporated into a lesson or classroom such as that.
