During this lesson the students would discuss this article and what is happening with in it. This lesson will provided a lot of room discussion as Montana is a land locked state and the students might not have any prior knowledge on Hurricanes. There will be lessons leading up to pulling apart this article to help the content that they will be reading. I would start this lesson out by having the students read the title and make predictions about what the article might be about. Going in paragraph by paragraph and dissect the content and making predictions along the way. This lesson would lead into discussing about weather, natural disasters, and how they are caused.

This assessment will allow the teacher to gain an understanding of what the students are able to take out of the article and where they need to go next in the lesson.
