You acted as a spotlight
I had to adjust my course and avoid the cliffs
Made clear what course would take me where I want to go

A summer that clarified a passion
Dropped the weight of expectation and abandoned judgment
Spoke my secrets and
Cleared the poison from my veins and felt fresh air in my lungs

Said yes without thought and learned to let be what comes
let the pen write for me and use my heart to edit.
