Do you need to improve your writing style?
Are you tired of looking everywhere for advice?
Do you believe in the phrase that quality is more important than quantity?
If so, you’ve come to the right place!
As someone who has been writing since a very young age, I can say that no writer is completely satisfied with the outcome of their work. That’s why we keep learning. Medium is a great place where we can share our discoveries on how we can write more engagingly, with higher quality, and in a way that makes readers want to come back again and again.
Two things constantly interact in my life — teaching and learning. The more I learn, the more I have a desire to help other writers develop.
I created this publication with the sincere desire that it become a safe place for all who want to grow in their writing. Regardless of exactly what kind it is — creative, freelance, or academic — this will be the academy where there are no wrong questions asked, and no judgmental looks given. Each of us needs support to achieve our writing goals.
For many of you, writing is just a hobby, but for others — it is a major occupation, and mastering it depends on what your income will be at the end of the month. I wouldn’t want to focus on that part — the financial part — because there are enough publications that address it.
My idea here is to share our insights on how to write better. By enjoying the journey and focusing on the quality of our work, we will inevitably achieve success at some point. It may not be in the way we imagined, nor in the time we had hoped, but with persistence, hard work, and love we can create a product that people are looking for.
In order to be needed by readers and for them to seek us out among the sea of authors, we must find our style. Sure, we can emulate our favorite writers, but inserting personal experience will always get noticed.
So… let’s start the adventure called Graphite & Ink Academy because as children we always learn to write with a pencil first, which we can erase before we start writing with a pen.

Books, courses, podcasts, and videos for writers
Writers’ competitions and new opportunities
We do not accept:
articles visibly related to an emphasis on monetary gain from writing
writing prompts
articles related to book marketing
AI-generated content
Layout and Formatting
Graphite & Ink accepts work up to a 10-minute read as verified by Medium’s time clock.
Please refrain from blocks of text as this makes the text difficult for the reader to comprehend.
Please always try to insert a personal element into your stories so that they are a delight to the reader. Ensure your stories are engaging. Many readers don’t like boring text-book-style descriptive narration.
If you use sources, please cite them at the end of the story.
Stories are accepted in draft form, as well as already published stories.
Graphite and Ink accepts two submissions per writer per week.
If you are a new writer, please review Medium’s guidelines and rules before submitting.
The use of Grammarly, or similar free software is highly recommended before submitting a story to Graphite & Ink.
Minor edits may be made or private notes left on your articles. This is just part of an editor’s role in maintaining publication standards.
You may have affiliate links for books and writing services but you must disclose them.
Images
Each story must have an image. You can use free images from Unsplash or Pexels. Your image goes under the title and subtitle. You can use more than one image although not to the point where your post is all image and no content.
Time for publication
Graphite & Ink publishes five days a week from Monday to Friday.
A writer may submit up to 2 articles per week.
