Our continued commitment to increase access and opportunity; join us at Black Women Talk Tech.

Industry events built around diversity and inclusion are an invaluable opportunity for founders of all backgrounds to learn, connect, and develop their business.

Unfortunately, many of these events often come with a hefty price tag.

At Grasshopper Bank we want to ensure that access to these events is not limited by a founder’s ability to pay to attend, especially when most early-stage founders have exceptionally scarce resources to begin with (if at all).

We are proud to introduce Grasshopper Grants, which covers 100% of the price of admission for a certain number of founders to attend critical events nationwide throughout the year.

The first conference we are supporting is Black Women Talk Tech’s “Roadmap to Billions”, being held in New York City (Feb 27–29), for which we will be providing ten founder grants.

We’ve created a simple application to apply for the grant, here.

The deadline to apply is February 3rd.

And of course, applying and/or receiving a Grasshopper Grant is not only limited only to our clients.

This is the first of an ongoing initiative by Grasshopper to provide grants to key community events nationwide as we seek to level the playing field of access for ALL founders.

We hope these grants play a small role in allowing more founders to benefit, regardless of whether they have the means to attend. As part of our commitment to founders, inclusion, and diversity, we want to ease the burden of having access so that founders can get the content, be a part of the conversation, and continue to build connections that will drive their business forward.

These grants are a part of our ethos, and our broader commitment to the community.

Going forward, we will be offering grants (for a certain number of tickets) for many conferences that will cover the entrance fee for founders and/or their team members.

What is the Black Women Talk Tech Grant, and Why Are We Supporting It?

The Roadmap to Billions conference is designed to give voice, strategy, and opportunity to help black women founders build the next billion dollar businesses. We are so proud to support and partake in this tremendous event.

We’ve selected supporting founder attendance at this conference because Black Women Talk Tech consistently raises the bar in providing actionable content while being intentional about thoughtfully convening community and we believe that founders will benefit from the impactful programming and opportunity to meet and connect with peers.

The best way to learn about upcoming conference grants is to (a) follow Grasshopper Bank on Twitter at @grasshopperbank, (b) follow our Medium Account or follow me (@denishakuhlor) and my colleague @jeremyshure on Twitter.

Lastly, if you are throwing a conference which is anchored in diversity and inclusion, and you too believe that having the funds to attend should NOT be a barrier to access, reach out to me, as we’d love to see how we can work together to bridge this gap.

You can always reach out to me or Jeremy with any questions.

We look forward to seeing you at #BWTTCON2020, and so many more conferences raising the bar for under-served founders.
