When fiction meets reality

I have been planning the whole thing for a while now. And by planning, I don’t mean booking tours and hotel rooms.

I mean tent, sleeping bag and camping stove, enough clothing to stay warm and 4 months of Japanese class.

I know where it starts and where it will end. And I have a vague idea of places I’d like to visit.

Yep. That’s my one-way ticket for adventure. 7 weeks of it.

And here we are: in less than 3 weeks, I’ll be in the plane. And everybody makes sure to remind me of it.

I can see their excitement and worries. The latter is way more contagious though. I start to feel the symptom: fear.

Fear that is slowly creeping its way into my body. My laid-back attitude is making more room for conservative whats and ifs.

I’m totally stepping out of my comfort zone on this one. But, hey, that’s the whole point.
