Welcoming Gravit to the Corel family
Bringing together great product lines in the graphics space.
Hello Gravit community!
I’m pleased to let you know that earlier today, Corel announced the acquisition of Gravit Designer, along with the full portfolio of products and technology previously owned by Gravit GmbH. Not only are these great products joining our lineup, more importantly, we’re very excited to welcome the Gravit development team to Corel. Together we’re looking forward to accelerating the Gravit roadmap and securing this remarkable technology’s position as a leader in the web-based graphic design space.
Over the last few years, the team at Gravit has developed a impressive HTML5-based vector graphics engine and application, and we’re thrilled to be part of the future for this great solution and bring it to the next level. The Gravit products join our extensive portfolio in the graphics and digital media space that includes CorelDRAW Graphics Suite, Corel Painter, and PaintShop Pro and is used by millions of users around the world.
We want you to know that we are committed to the Gravit products and excited for their future. We’re already hard at work on the roadmap and opportunities for Gravit and I want you to know that the apps you love have a great home with Corel. Across our portfolio, we work closely with our communities to deliver high-quality products that enable our users to be as creative and productive as possible. Rest assured, we plan to keep a free version of Gravit available and are looking to introduce a premium offering for those who want to go beyond. We also see great opportunities and benefits to leveraging technologies from our other graphics products, including CorelDRAW, to continue the evolution of the Gravit family.
On a personal note, I look forward to getting to know the Gravit community and want you to know that I’ve been passionate about graphics & design throughout my time working in this industry — now going on 20 years. Gravit Designer is a fantastic product and I’m honored to get to work with it moving forward. With Corel’s investment, global reach, and 30+ years of leadership in this space, Gravit has new opportunities to take web-based graphic design to a new level. We’re all very excited to be part of this next chapter with you!
In closing, I wanted to extend our gratitude to Alexander Adam, Gravit’s founder, whom I’ve worked with closely over the last few months. As he turns the page to start a new project, I’d like to wish him all the best with his next startup, Campai.
Happy Designing!
