Looking ahead for Gravit Designer
As we have announced here a few weeks back, we were recently welcomed to the Corel family. The whole team is super excited about the future and all the opportunities this presents to Gravit Designer. We can now bring the app to its next phase in life and expand in directions where we’ve wanted to go for a long time. We’ve also made it our short-term priority to improve performance and are hard at work with the new rendering engine.
We’re fixing some long overdue bugs reported by our passionate community, bringing further stability to the product. Listening to our users and regular dialog continues to be very important to us. It helps to define the areas where our software needs the most improvements as well as where we can extend our feature set.
Here are just a few of the features we are planning to add to the Gravit Designer product line in the near future: Improved EPS import, Adobe Illustrator file import, auto-update functionality, text improvements (uppercase, lowercase, ligatures, advanced character support for non-Latin languages, right-to-left languages…) and many more.
Our team is committed to keeping and enhancing the free version of Gravit Designer. To guarantee the long-term growth of this amazing software, we’re also driving valuable improvements and enhancements to the product and its underlying engine. This is a significant effort that requires a sustainable business model, and as such, we will be introducing a Pro version of Gravit Designer in the coming months that will offer access to our more advanced and powerful features.
With this change, some of our existing advanced features will go exclusively to the Pro version including: high-quality PDF export, extended SVG export, advanced symbol features, CYMK and swatches. That said, please know that we are fully committed to bringing all bug fixes and continue to improve features in the free version to keep it a viable design option, and other features, like the Gravit Cloud and our multi-platform support, will also remain.
Our desire to bring Gravit Designer to new users doesn’t change our dedication to our loyal users. That’s why anyone who has an existing account before the introduction of our new Pro offering qualifies for special pricing.
