Questions To Ask Yourself As You Try To Open A Cereal Box

My children are bad at opening cereal boxes. I have devised a useful set of questions for them to ponder as they make their own breakfast.

Questions To Ask Yourself As You Try To Open A Cereal Box

Part One: Opening The Box Without Destroying It

  • Is the box right side up?
  • Do you hear the sound of excess tearing?
  • Why are you using your teeth?

Part Two: The Bag Inside

  • Are you strong enough to open the bag without tools?
  • Do you have the power and dexterity to pull the bag open without ripping it apart entirely?
  • Would you like a pair of scissors?
  • Is cereal flying through the air?

Part Three: Pouring A Reasonable Amount Of Cereal Into A Bowl

  • Are you aiming the box towards an empty bowl?
  • Are you going to eat all of that?
  • Can you please not spill milk all over the place?

Part Four: Now You Have A Bowl Of Cereal

  • Did you know that it is possible to close a box of cereal?
  • Did you know that if you close the bag by rolling the top edge down, an airtight seal will keep the cereal fresh forever?
  • Why is all the cereal stale?
  • Where did all these ants come from?
