Sydney was spread out on the blanket. Topless and aroused.

It had been weeks that she had been sneaking to Sawyer’s house. They spoke as they knew how to. She would go to his house, open the door and he would be waiting for her. Because of what had happened with Clair, she always let him know she was coming via text.

He either stood by the door and hugged her as soon as he saw her, or sat on the couch and she stood between his legs or he sat on the steps with his hands knotted together waiting for her.

He took her inside the house, once they almost did not make it inside, and he kissed her until all her hesitation dissipated. Until she looked up at him with soft eyes, and he knew she was his.

They made love invariably against the wall, on the couch, on the carpet, on the kitchen island, or in his bed. He always indicated she should stay, and would even start cooking which she knew he loved to do.

But she could not stay. She would put her dress back on that he placed over a chair or somewhere else neatly and squeeze his shoulders. He would kiss her and she would want to stay but Sydney knew that she could not stay with him.
