Things to be grateful for #9

Fruit loaf: If you have $10 to spend at a cafe and you’re a bit peckish what are you going to order? Bircher muesli? Don’t make me laugh.
The Chinese village of Dafen: 20 years ago this tiny (by Chinese standards) backwater produced 60% of all the world’s oil paintings. That’s fucking insane. Now it’s not really doing that anymore because it’s in China and you know, doesn’t really need to. I’m grateful just to be able to witness the scale of all things China.

Bitcoin: This may be the most micro case in favour of bitcoin but I just don’t like carrying coins, they make my large quads look larger and lumpier ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Pomegranates: It’s like looking into a kaleidoscope in some caravanserai along the Silk Road.
The Amazon River: Without it there would be no inspiration for the movie Anaconda, for which I’m eternally grateful. And I guess the unrivalled biodiversity in the form of the largest collection of living plants and animal species in the world blah blah.

The Mohawk: If old people and out of touch suburbanites are on a train and see someone with a mohawk they automatically and surreptitiously protect their wallet or scooch down to the next seat. These people saw a movie once where these ‘hoodlums’ put their feet on the seat and it has permanently scarred them. The burden of proof is apparently on the hoodlums to prove the bogus stereotypes wrong, despite the fact their hair is usually the most dangerous thing about them.
