APRIL FOOL’S DAY FOOD ROUNDUP
Famous food brands invented disgusting, amusing, and dare I say…unholy? creations for April 1st. Among the grosser concoctions: A&W Root Beer and Dr. Pepper toothpaste. Kraft Macaroni and Cheese and Pebbles cereal debuted a Fruity Pebbles macaroni and cheese, and Hot Pockets flirted with the idea of a cookie dough flavor.
Among the less egregious pranks: Tic Tac flavors inspired by Del Taco sauces, and Combos in two new varieties…Hot Dog and Dill Pickle.
A creation I just might try? Drumstick Nugget Cereal…which features the chocolate-filled tip of the cone, in cereal form. (Snackolator)
My Opinion: The food collaborations certain companies come out with make me think all American food is a combination of flavors and syrups painted on carbs. That being said, a cereal filled with chocolate ice cream cone tips doesn’t sound too crazy…we already have cookie cereal. For some reason, Dr. Pepper toothpaste seems like it makes sense…it leaves the same painful feeling in my mouth as Listerine.
