Lately, I have tried to carve time every week to absorb new perspectives, unique approaches to innovation and other audacious growth ideas. These include new podcast stations and popular TED talks. During this time, I stumbled upon a video by Simon sinek on the No.1 habit of billionaires.

Key idea:

According to Simon Sinek the difference between billionaires and the ordinary middle class is the ability to think long term.

Rich people think in 10 and 20 year time frames.

They are always thinking what skills or trends can I Leverage? How can I capitalize to get 100x returns on my money efforts and time? They know how to leverage smart work to get exponential returns.

Other unconventional ideas:

These are not from Simon Sinek, but still worth mulling over.

  • Instead of tapping into passing fads, think what will NOT change in the next 10 years. Babies, weddings, petcare — industries that will always have a market.
  • Smushing — combine 2 separate ideas and industries and create a new market. Concept of taxis and airbnb came togethet to become Uber. What else can you combine?
  • More ideas here:

This is Day 23 of my writing challenge.
