It was Thanksgiving in the US yesterday, and my social media was filled with posts about things people are grateful for, just like my own post from yesterday.

Interestingly, I also read many opinions about people feeling bitter about “gratitude journals” not working.

Expressing gratitude is not a chore.

It is not a shortcut to success, either!

Yes, there are many people who made entries in their gratitude journal for 100+ days (or 1000, or whatever number) and later became insanely successful. Do not mistake correlation for causation. Don’t try to make journaling or gratitude posts a “checklist” item for life.

Even Ozan Varol, author of the bestselling book “Think Like a Rocket Scientist” had an email yesterday stating how gratitude journals started to become repetitive and forced, so he started to visualize and stopped writing them down. WHAAATTT???
