Happy Thanksgiving
Gratitude for the World
Happy Thanksgiving, everyone!
Today is a big holiday in the US and one of the traditions I have adopted is to give thanks for all the amazing things and people in my life!
Being thankful is an intentional practice. Everyone’s life is filled with some friction, but many people have started to relish “helpless complaining”. I have restarted my gratitude practice to ensure I don’t fall in that category.
This will be my new Thanksgiving tradition.
Some of the things I am grateful for:
- My family and adorable kids
- My daughter “mothering” over her little brother
- My job — interesting people, reasonable work life balance and good pay! Given the spate of layoffs in the tech sector, I am especially thankful for the financial comforts a steady paycheck provides.
- 18 days of writing this month, including today. A feat, given the competing demands of motherhood and work.
- Tech/AI tools — which allow me to brainstorm better, schedule posts, write quickly and indulge in writing. Writing is a mix of creative outlet and brand-building to me, so I am grateful that these tools help me optimize the fragmented chunks of time in my life.
- Health — did my annual wellness checkup for my health insurance. Results were all in the normal range which is fabulous, considering 90% of my peers suffer from BP, cholestrol, sugar or all 3.
- The loot in giftcards I discovered recently. Thank you friends and family.
- The readers on Medium who read, clap, and comment on my articles.
This is Day 18 of my writing challenge.
