Marrakech (sometimes spelled Marrakesh) is a Morroccan city located in the mid-southwestern region of the kingdom, at the edge of the Atlas Mountains and the Ourika River Valley. Traditionally a Berber farming center, Marrakech developed political, cultural, religious, and economic importance soon after its founding. The Medina quarter within the city’s red ochre walls is today a UNESCO World Heritage Site, and is a popular visitor spot. Running in Marrakech offers lots of fun surprises, from a tour of the walls to manicured paths in parks and street medians.
