Week 1 — Roles for the “Green Submarines” company
It was a pleasure for me to brainstorm with the team, Bodil, Julian, and Dean, about a new and innovative “business idea”. We came up with a company which would turn a lethal weapon (here, a nuclear submarine) into a green electricity-producing (ie the energy from the waves), research-oriented and with offering deep sea discoveries to everyone.
If any investors are interested, let us know!!
Once we had the business idea, the next step was to lay down all the recurring activities which would be needed for this company to run at its peak and smoothly.
Then, we grouped those recurring activities (aka “accountabilities”) into a list of purposes. And finally adding the role titles. We had our first iteration of all the roles which would be needed for “Green Submarines Inc”.
But, what is this fictitious (maybe not for long?!) company for?
Buying up old nuclear subs and turning them into green submarines. Green submarines are submarines running on wave energy. The submarines are used for research to explore deep waters, climate change and wave energy. Selling solutions for alternative energy.
Now, the next step would be to experience and iterate on dynamic and distributed “mechanims” to make this governance agile; evolving like a living organism based on the external and internal events.
