SEPTEMBER 22: Celebration of Saint Phocas
Saint Phocas of Sinope in the Black Sea, was sensible, educated and devout, who chose the way he would take already at a young age, inspired by the words of the Scriptures. He was sincere and a philanthropist, who became Bishop of Sinope and was renowned for his wisdom and the miracles he performed in the name of the triune God. He martyred in the years of Trajan and gained a well-deserved place in the eternal light.
