Because of the pandemic, we see a significant rise in e-commerce adoption worldwide. More people are buying online and millions of parcels are shipped daily.

This can be a potential environmental disaster as we create more and more plastic waste due to packaging.

We have personally seen an increase in our online sales and parcel delivery. Because of that, we have been searching for bubble wrap replacements for quite some time now.

We recently discovered something right under our noses.

One of the things we have a lot of is wood shavings; we’re constantly figuring out ways to utilise these residues.

We now have the opportunity to use them as fillers for our box packaging. Instead of using bubble wrap or polystyrene, the shavings can be used as padding to protects the items during shipping.

It is a good substitute as its lightweight, abundance and biodegradable. The limitations I see right now is that wood dust might get on the item.

This has been a fun discovery for me as it helps us utilise the byproducts of the factory and serves as a #sustainable solution to our packaging requirement.

If your business deals with posting your goods, you may want to consider using this as an alternative.
