According to Wong Kaufui Vincent in his book “Climate Change” he’s very specifically talking about the cause and effect of climate change, Some topics include climate change and theories, greenhouse effect and evidence of global warming have very interesting points of view. It’s undeniable that he has shown much research and proof to bring up people’s attention to this subject.

In his book, he wrote “If you look at the increasing world population, we essentially have to double meat production by 2050,” said Murray, professor at the University of California, Davis. “And we have to do that with less land, less water, and in an environmentally sustainable manner.” Murray suggested using genetic engineering of animals, which started about 30 years ago, but none of the genetically modified (GM) animals has been approved by the United States Food and Drug Administration (USFDA). It is the suggestion of the current work to turn to the wealth of the oceans for solutions”. (page 91,2015)

In reading the whole chapter, It’s clear that he’s much aware of ocean rises and gave his opinion on the matter. he broke down his ideas into an introduction, current status, and conclusion. First, he introduced the negative impact of climate change over the past years, then he jumped to his conclusion by stating “Aquaculture should be encouraged and increased to meet the rising food demand in the world. Deepwater aquaculture should be explored and initiated. The whale is a denizen of the deep. Wind and water power generation technologies should be increased and implemented. Solar energy collection in the open oceans should be considered. Hydraulic turbines seem to be rather promising, and work should continue. Desalting the seawater should definitely be a priority to make present technologies more affordable to poorer nations. Solar energy should be used as much as possible with respect to the desalination processes”.(page 95,2015). In his main statement, he believes that advanced technology is a big factor contributing to stopping the rise of the ocean. He’s taking steps to give solutions to protect the wealth of the ocean. One of the very interesting points I learned is that the author believes the place of deep water science and engineering is important in terms of resource shortage and usage. And it’s very true that we must find new resources to replace current unrenewable resources. And the ocean’s where people can be relied on.

Overall, This book is very worthy of reading not only because of a lot of its content about climate change. But also it provides some unique points of view that expand your knowledge and think about climate change differently such as its positive and negative influences. In addition, the author leaves us questions and discussions about whether those solutions are possible or not. He’s not trying to strongly argue and make his statement persuasive. Rather, his book tends to be informative and make people think.
