Clean Energy Update & Proposed Action for May, 2020.

Thomas Bailey toured the towns of Kawamata and Namie within the Fukushima Prefecture in Japan in 2019.

Olympic athletes and their national Olympic Committees pressured the Japanese Government and the International Olympic Committee to postpone the 2020 Tokyo Olympics. Their stated reason was the Covid-19 pandemic. The Washington Post reported on March 24 the Olympics will be held next summer in 2021.

This postponement is welcome news to Greens Japan, who have opposed holding the 2020 Tokyo Olympics. Immediately after the March, 2011 Earthquake, Tsunami and Triple Hydrogen Explosions at Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Station, the Japanese Government shut down reactors nationwide. Greens Japan wants the Japanese Government to cleanup the radioactive fallout still contaminating their homes and businesses while continuing to spill into the Pacific Ocean.

Watch the short video to find out how fellow Greens are living with the excessive radiation. The video was produced by Greens Japan in 2018 #StopNuclearPower.

Greens Japan urge their members to produce and purchase renewable energy. Please read their Greens Japan March, 2020 Statement

My proposed action is to solicit comments at the next GPAC General Assembly as to what we can do to join with Greens Japan. They want their members to increase their personal use of community based, solar energy. In addition, they support #no nuclear power. Let me how we can do this.
