Mark Brown and other members of the GPOAC participate in Pittsburgh Pride in June 2018.

Mark Brown, the GPOAC Secretary and grad student studying infectious disease and microbiology, has made a series of four short videos about the Coronavirus. Mark explains how the disease spreads, what it does to the body, and how to protect ourselves. The good news is, he translates all the information into layman’s terms for ease of understanding.

Please keep in mind, Mark’s videos address his understanding of public health and pandemics, but they are not designed to be medical advice. These videos also do not represent the views of his employer, university, or any other associated organization. Please follow up with your personal doctor if you have any questions or concerns about your health.

Part One: How Coronavirus Spreads

Part Two: Ways To Prevent Coronavirus Spreading

Part Three: Why Coronavirus Is Serious and Requires “Flattening the Curve”

Part Four: How Coronavirus Interacts With Cells In Your Body

Note to Readers: The Green Party of Allegheny County needs your support to continue our pursuit of people and planet over profits. Please consider making a donation. We also encourage you to get involved in Green politics.
