Ms. Diti Mookherjee, Chief Executive Officer

Ms. Mookherjee is a respected Fulbright-Nehru Fellow for Environmental leadership in 2011–2012. With over 25 years of experience in social development, she is a founding member of the Association for Social and Environmental Development (ASED) since its establishment in 2001. For eight years, she worked with SAHAY, a non-profit organization affiliated to Children International, USA, conducting a child sponsorship program in 10 districts of West Bengal, through 28 partners. In addition, she was a consultant to the DFID supported West Bengal Civil Society Support Programme (WBCSSP) in operation from 2006 till 2009. She has been an advisor to the various health sector organizations including Technical Assistant Support Team (TAST) of the Department of Health and Family Welfare, of the Government of West Bengal.

Mr. Ananda Menon, Program Coordinator

Mr. Menon was the Coordinator of Biodiversity Initiatives at the Association for Social and Environmental Development from March 2015 to July 2016. After completing his Bachelor’s degree at the College of Wooster in Biology, he took a break from the sciences to learn how to effectively involve people in conservation initiatives. During his time at ASED, he ventured to the various villages where the Green Rhinos Leadership Program had been implemented, meeting some of the most inspiring youth in the country. He is currently doing a Master’s degree at the College of William and Mary in Virginia but remains associated with the Green Rhinos Program here in India.

Ms. Debolina Naskar, Program Officer

Since February 16, 2015, Ms. Naskar has worked for ASED, originally as a Field Coordinator before being promoted to Program Officer. After completing her Masters at the University of Calcutta in Environmental Sciences, she started working with ASED with the goal of creating a clean, green and environmentally aware society. Ms. Naskar believes that raising awareness of various environmental issues is most effective by educating the youth. By starting at the ‘grassroots,’ ASED can have the greatest impact on today’s environmental challenges. Over the course of her employment with ASED, she enjoys visiting the outreach programs beyond Kolkata — interacting with the youth participating in the Green Rhinos Program. To date, Ms. Naskar has created 350 Green Rhinos with the help of the ASED Team, with the primary aspiration of educating more youth nationally and globally!
