The Mentors in Tech (MinT) team recently shared on LinkedIn that Green River College BAS graduate Aaron Neagle (Class of 2023) recently joined UPS as a web developer specialist!

A long-time UPS employee, Aaron combined his skills, work experience, and BAS degree to land this role and launch his tech career through an internal move.

Every BAS Software Development student at Green River has the opportunity to be paired with two tech industry mentors through partnership with Mentors in Tech. Belwo, Aaron shares the best advice he received from his MinT mentors:

  • Used the STAR method to build out canned situational answers related to work and school.
  • Rewrote my resume multiple times to ensure I utilized space appropriately and targeted towards job description.
  • Utilized and promoted soft skills to set myself apart from applicants with similar qualifications.
  • Looked at companies that are not tech centered.

High-fives to Aaron’s MinT mentors Andrew Kuoh (Capgemini), Michael Thomas (Microsoft), Eric Aderhold (Code.org), and Mark Turner!

Congrats, Aaron!
