BAS students attend Linux Foundation’s Open Source Summit

Around sixty BAS Software Development students and three instructors from Green River College attended the Linux Foundation’s Open Source Summit last week in Seattle, WA. The three-day conference featured keynote speakers, networking events, and a packed schedule of panel sessions and learning workshops.

Green River instructors Ken Hang and Tyler Schrock and Mentors in Tech founder Kevin Wang helped coordinate funding to make attending the open source summit possible for BAS students. Thanks, Ken, Tyler, and Kevin!

Notably, Ken Hang also participated in a panel session at the summit with Marianne Goldin (Apple), Tyler Menezes (CodeDay), and Kevin Wang (Mentors in Tech) entitled “Recruiting Overlooked Open-Source Contributors: Building OSS Partnerships with Community Colleges.”
