We are thrilled to announce the recipient of this year’s BAS Software Development program award is Class of 2024 graduate James Motherwell. As a student in our Software Development BAS, James embodied the spirit of this award through academic achievement, service to others, and technical excellence.

In addition to maintaining an exemplary grade point average, James served as a lead intern for our department. In this role, he coached and mentored other interns and worked on various software projects.

He also demonstrated leadership through his work with the Boardmasters student club. As a club co-leader, he helped dozens of Software Development students prepare for job interviews and career search.

Among his more impressive accomplishments, James also contributed to an open source software project called Hyperswitch used by 10,000 Rust developers. As part of this project, he helped improve a payment processing solution that will benefit the Rust community for years to come.

Congratulations, James, and thank you for choosing Green River!
