Dear Dr. Folklore,

I’m an eight-foot-tall female yōkai (supernatural) that’s so desperate to date a man that I travel around small Japanese villages to peer into second-story brothels only to get a man’s attention and have him tell me I’m ugly. If I could change I would, but I don’t even know my family or where I come from. It makes me want to either disguise myself as “average-sized” and eat my woodcutter husband’s servants and children, or only prey on children based on an internet suggestion from 2Chan and go by “Hachishakusama”… but that won’t help. My first instinct is to try dating apps, but I’m scared… what if they run away when they see all my flaws?
