HUMOR
Norfolk Southern CEO, Alan Shaw, Visits The Antiques Roadshow
These tracks date all the way back to the Civil War
Appraiser: Mr. Shaw, this is a beautiful piece you’ve brought in today. It looks to be the entire American railway system?
Alan Shaw: Yes, that’s right.
Appraiser: Forgive me if this is a bit direct, but aren’t you supposed to be at a town hall in East Palestine, Ohio today to answer for the train derailment that spilled toxic chemicals into the town?
Shaw: Indeed, but when I heard The Antiques Roadshow would be in my home town on the same day, I just knew I had to be here. For the record, it was not at all because I’m afraid the residents of East Palestine would attack me with pitchforks. I’m just such a super fan of the show!
Appraiser: Okay. Well, tell me more about the piece you’ve brought today.
Shaw: So, like you pointed out, I’ve brought in the complete American railway system as managed by my company, Norfolk Southern. I’ve got the train tracks, the cars, the brakes, the levers, everything. Even some of my jolly old workers!
Appraiser: And as far as you know this is all antique?
