Why people still buy cannabidiol isolated?

After over two decades of a legal American cannabis market, cannabidiol isolate is the result of the newest innovations in extraction technology. Lacking in psychoactivity but abundant in remedial properties, cannabidiol has become one of the fastest growing industries in the natural health sector. What once started as ethanol extraction has grown into some of the most sophisticated extraction techniques known to the botanical world, resulting in almost 100% pure cannabidiol.

Cannabidiol isolate is virtually pure cannabidiol. Unknown to the cannabis industry until recently, cannabidiol isolate is now one of the most sought after products in the industry as a whole. Its versatility is unmatched compared to other forms of cannabidiol extract and it has the quality of near purity. The isolate product, as its name suggests, is an isolated form of cannabidiol. This means that isolate contains no other cannabinoids, terpenes or terpenoids, or flavonoids. It is the purest form of a phytocannabinoid that has ever graced the modern world.

Scientifically, medically and technically speaking…

CBD, more formally known as cannabidiol, is a naturally occurring phytocannabinoid of the cannabis plant. It is most commonly extracted from hemp, which has naturally high levels of cannabidiol, and is less commonly extracted from marijuana, which is cultivated for its high THC levels.

The molecular structure of cannabidiol is extremely similar to that of THC, but has a hydroxyl group where THC’s cyclic ring structure would otherwise exist. It follows the same biosynthesis pathway, starting as a chemical reaction between geranyl pyrophosphate and olivetolic acid. These two are bound together by an enzyme-catalyzed reaction resulting in cannabigerolic acid (CBGA). Then, in the presence of large quantities of cannabidiol synthase, CBGA is transformed into cannabidiol carboxylic acid (CBDA). cannabidiol is only formed after heat is applied to CBDA, which results in the removal of the carboxylic acid, a process known as decarboxylation.

CBD has bridged the gap between the pharmaceutical world and natural cannabis medicine. With non-psychoactive remedial properties, it has validated the medical application of cannabis in a way that is meaningful to the public, the health sector and the pharmaceutical industry. This is fundamentally the reason that scientists around the world are dedicating their time to the research of cannabidiol and the ways it can benefit those with cancer, epilepsy, depression, anxiety, chronic pain and gastrointestinal problems — just to name a handful.

From seed to isolate: How is cannabidiol isolate manufactured?

The process of manufacturing a top shelf CBD isolate product requires careful attention at every step. In a growing cannabis industry, some of these steps are neglected or deemed unimportant, but fundamentally, each step contributes to the quality of the final product.

The seed is just as important an aspect of cannabidiol manufacture as any other, and correct cultivation is often a step that is overlooked for its importance. To manufacture a great cannabidiol product, whether isolate, oil or otherwise, the source (i.e., hemp) must be grown correctly and sustainably. Otherwise, the final product is potentially compromised with contaminants.

After hemp is harvested, it undergoes the first extraction process which is virtually the same for all cannabidiol products. This is usually via CO2 extraction techniques, where CO2 is pumped at high pressure through a vessel containing hemp botanicals. All cannabinoids, terpenoids and flavonoids are extracted, resulting in an oily substance that is known as a full-spectrum cannabidiol oil.

In order to isolate cannabidiol from the rest of its companions, a process called chromatography is applied on the full-spectrum cannabidiol oil. Essentially, all terpenoids and flavonoids are removed from the mixture, resulting in something like a cannabidiol isolate. This is akin to filtration. Finally, the product undergoes a process called winterization, which removes any waxes, lipids or chlorophyll that might be remaining in the mixture. The final product is a white, crystal-like substance called cannabidiol isolate, and is cannabidiol in its purest chemical form.

Innovative, proprietary extraction techniques

An incredibly talented team of professionals at Dr Isolate have innovated proprietary extraction techniques that allow us to isolate not just cannabidiol, but other rare cannabinoids and terpenes. Our GMP certified 80,000 square foot extraction facility is operated by 8 PhD scientists, all of whom are committed to the manufacture of the finest quality CBD isolate.

In the process of our proprietary extraction technique, we are able to retain some of the harder-to-extract compounds of the cannabis plant. This includes cannabinoids such as CBDa, CBN and CBG, as well as terpenes and terpenoids that make up the chemical profile of cannabis. Ultimately, all of these compounds are profoundly valuable to the medical community, whether for the manufacture of remedial products or for the purpose of medical research.

As well as providing America’s finest CBD extractions, Dr Isolate leads the way in extraction technology. By committing ourselves to constant growth and development in extraction methods and techniques, our ultimate goal is essentially to get better and better at what we do.

Applied cannabidiol science and the future

The cannabis industry has been searching for a way to apply its science in a world that requires the support and backing of scientific and medical evidence. A lack of clinical research on cannabis and its constituent parts has left a gap in the scientific and medical understanding of how to use this cannabinoid. One aspect of Dr Isolate’s endeavor is to provide the raw cannabidiol isolate that can fuel the manufacture of pharmaceutical grade products and the research of those products.

The team of professors, scientists and PhDs is adequately prepared for the task of manufacturing pharmaceutical grade isolates. The ultimate objective of this task is to supply pharmaceutical companies with isolates for the manufacture of pharmaceutical products or for the purposes of research and development. Research is becoming an increasingly important aspect of the cannabis industry, especially with respect to rarer cannabinoids such as CBN and CBG.

Investing into the cannabis industry also means investing into its future, which almost exclusively rests on the ability to conduct research and further understanding. The medical potential of these cannabinoids has yet to be fully understood, and before proper research can even commence, it is imperative to have access to a pharmaceutical grade isolate such as ours.

Our proprietary extraction technology gives us the ability to produce some of the purest cannabinoid isolates possible. The potential for a product this pure is almost unlimited and opens the door to a future of cannabis that until recently, most would not have imagined possible.
