Fastest Growing Plant in the World

Bamboo is a grass and holds the record for fastest growing plant in the world. Bamboos can be harvested in 3 to 5 years and new shoots grow continuously allowing to be harvested consecutively every year or two, Compare this to wood which takes 20–50 years and requires replanting. This makes bamboo a highly renewable resource.

An Excellent Carbon Sink

Bamboo can capture and store carbon , so this could mean bamboo can be used to reduce the carbon dioxide in the atmosphere significantly. Bamboo exhibits carbon capture almost 450 times more efficient than trees. Using bamboo can stop us from using other raw materials leading to huge cut in carbon emission.

Combining the fact that its the fastest grown plant and highly efficient carbon sink , it can help eliminate deforestation for timber.Which will have exponential effect on controlling climate change.
