Like many millennials across the world, my top priorities have gradually been shifting towards a more ‘sustainable life’ for our planet.

There are many factors that led to me pursuing a cleaner, greener life. This journey has helped me understand that we must strive for a regenerative lifestyle as opposed to a sustainable lifestyle. This means we should lead our lives such that we give back to our planet. Here are some of the recent highlights that have led to my transformation:

  1. Farming in my backyard in Goa and starting to use fresh vegetables straight from the garden to my plate! I’ve been influenced by my neighbours who practice and host amazing permaculture workshops.
I learned some of my mother’s recipes too :-)

2. My first Vipassana course which helped me understand awareness and equanimity — Understanding the temporary nature of everything. I believe this experience helped me understand the power of collective consciousness and that we are all one .

3. Understanding Naturapathy from my parents who practice the lifestyle — When you embrace Naturopathy for regaining good health, you are in turn ‘Returning to Nature.’ The body has an elaborate healing mechanism which has the power to regain optimal health. All we have to do is assist the body in carrying out its self healing process.

4. Travelling through Europe — Much is to be learned from their renewable energy projects, waste management and community farming concepts. We learn to adapt their top eco-friendly practices as we approach similar challenges in India.

5. Ikigai — is a Japanese concept that means “a reason for being.” I did the exercise to understand what I would like to do to be happy in life :-)

My journey so far has helped me reflect on my purpose and these recent experiences have inspired my new venture, greenlane — a platform that curates video content to inspire you to live consciously. It’s a platform where you can learn how to minimise your carbon footprint and engage with initiatives that are truly responsible.

I believe that the climate catastrophe is the most complex problem of our times and we all need to understand that our individual contributions lead to positive global impact. Do check it out Greenlane and share it with your friends who might find it interesting.
