One year ago, the Women’s March on Washington — and sister marches around the world — reminded us of two very important things. One, that women are ready to lead the resistance in their communities and in movements worldwide. And two, that fighting for a green and peaceful future means fighting for gender justice, as well.

In the year since, we’ve seen women continue to show up and do amazing things for people and the planet. Women are suing their governments for failing to protect us from climate change, launching campaigns to protect fragile ecosystems, protecting Indigenous rights, fighting devastating forest fires, taking the lead in international climate negotiations, giving us a view of the world through their lens, and so much more.

Built on the spirit of that activism and the enduring energy of the inaugural Women’s March, the resistance movement remains strong and women remain vital to its power. This past weekend saw marches and demonstrations on six continents, some even larger than last year.

Whether you march in a crowd of thousands …

… or just a few dozen.

Whether you march for racial justice …

… Indigenous Peoples …

… transgender rights …

… or the environment.

Whether you march for those that marched before you …

… or the next generation of leaders.

There will always be a place for you in the movement for a green and peaceful future.
